CHESTERTON – Duneland Group Inc., a provider of engineering and surveying services in the Midwest, has hired 25-year veteran Kurt Smith to manage its engineering and surveying work. The 45-year-old is a native of Des Moines, Iowa, and now lives in Valparaiso.

Most recently, smith was with DLZ Industrial Surveying Inc. He served as project manager for DLZ Industrial overseeing its Joliet, Ill., office. He also has worked for King Engineering, Kirk Michael & Associates and Civil Engineering Consultants.
He studied at William Penn College, served in the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division and is a graduate of the Construction Advancement Foundation’s Project Management Academy.
