CHESTERTON – Duneland Group Inc., a provider of engineering and surveying services in the Midwest, has hired 25-year veteran Kurt Smith to manage its engineering and surveying work. The 45-year-old is a native of Des Moines, Iowa, and now lives in Valparaiso.

Ray, professional engineer and leader of Duneland. “Kurt is well respected in the industry and we believe the depth and breadth of his project management experience across a multitude of markets will help us as we continue to grow and enhance the value we bring to our clients.”

Most recently, smith was with DLZ Industrial Surveying Inc. He served as project manager for DLZ Industrial overseeing its Joliet, Ill., office. He also has worked for King Engineering, Kirk Michael & Associates and Civil Engineering Consultants.
He studied at William Penn College, served in the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division and is a graduate of the Construction Advancement Foundation’s Project Management Academy.
