SOUTH BEND/ELKHART — Each year the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) recognizes CPAs who have served their profession and/or communities in an outstanding manner. Kruggel Lawton CPAs was honored during this year’s CPA Celebration in Indianapolis on November 15 when two of its professionals received the following awards:
Emerging Leaders Award: Andrew E. Kominowski, CPA, CVA
Andrew Kominowski has demonstrated his leadership abilities through his combination of professional accomplishments, community leadership and interpersonal strengths. Kominowski made a significant contribution to Kruggel Lawton’s business valuation practice when he took the Certified Valuation Analyst exam and earned the accreditation in 2013. His community leadership includes co-founding the Young Professionals Network in Elkhart.
Chairman’s Award: Herman K. Kruggel, CPA – Retired Founding Partner
Herm Kruggel is the retired founding partner of Kruggel Lawton CPAs. Upon graduation from the University of Notre Dame, he began his career with a small local CPA firm owned by the head of the Notre Dame School of Accounting. In 1975 he joined with his longtime friend Roy Lawton to form Kruggel, Lawton & Company. Now, some 57 years later, the firm has grown to 43 employees and eight partners, including Herm’s two sons, Kevin and Kurt. Kevin, the immediate past chair of the INCPAS, honored his father with this award for his influence and guidance on his career.
