Ivy Tech administrator named to national board

Ivy Tech Community College Lafayette Chancellor Dr. David Bathe was appointed vice president of finance for the National Council for Workforce Education.

As an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCWE provides a national forum for administrators and faculty in workforce education and basic skills. Bathe joined the NCWE board in June 2017.

Bathe will serve on the executive committee and oversee financial operations of the organization. As a member of the board, he continues to help make policy recommendations to support workforce education initiatives across the country and advocate for policy and legislation which supports workforce and economic development and job training.

“I am honored to join the executive leadership of a national organization committed to student success and excellence in education,” Bathe said. “Through NCWE, Ivy Tech will have the opportunity to participate in initiatives and influence legislation that will have a positive impact on the workforce education programs we offer in the Lafayette service area.”

Bathe has been chancellor of the Ivy Tech Lafayette campus since 2004. Bathe serves on several boards including the Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement, Wabash Heartland Innovation Network, Greater Lafayette Commerce, WGU Indiana Advisory Board, and City of Lafayette Economic Development Commission. He is an honorary commander of the 434th Operation Group, Grissom Air Reserve Base.
