LAPORTE – Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital Food and Nutrition Service placed second at the Indiana Hoosier Association for Healthcare Foodservice culinary competition.
The three-member team took part in the competition in Fishers last month with their Hidden Chicken Surprise served with a roasted vegetable pasta toss. Members of the team were Diana Mebust, director of FNS; Terri Faulkenburg, assistant director; and Peggy Patterson, senior chef.
The team was one of 92 to submit an original recipe for the competition.
“Not only do we try to offer tasty meals, snacks and desserts at the IU Health LaPorte Hospital cafeteria, but we also look at ingredients that could help with disease management,” said Mebust.
