IU Health Dental gets new director

LAPORTE – Indiana University Health La Porte Community Health and Dental centers has named Rick Zastoupil the new director.

Zastoupil previously served as a volunteer EMT/firefighter for a fire department in Washington State. He then served as the lead Spanish interpreter, and then later became the coordinator for an outreach program for a dual-county health department in Wenatchee, Wash. He later worked as a sleep technician in Tuscaloosa, Ala. then served in Bristol, Tenn., as a sleep technologist where he passed his registry in registry in sleep medicine.

He joined the IU Health La Porte Hospital family in 2003 as the coordinator of the Neuro/Sleep department, which later expanded to IU Health La Porte Sleep Services. He studied at Wenatchee Valley College, Wash., and later received his associate of science in business and bachelor of science in management from Indiana Wesleyan University. He has most recently obtained his master in business administration from the university with a specialty in healthcare administration.
