The SJC Chamber and many of its business leaders, in collaboration with other community leaders, chambers and economic development organizations in Michiana, participated in the Indiana Regional Cities Forum, hosted by the area’s regional economic development group, Michiana Partnership. Eric Doden, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), and Rich Overmoyer, CEO of the consulting firm Fourth Economy, presented their findings to over 200 attendees as part of the state’s Regional Cities Initiative.

Over the next several months, a competitive process will develop among the regions in Indiana for an opportunity to become one of two Indiana Regional Cities. The designation will bring a strong partnership opportunity with the state of Indiana as they seek to help regions transform. A successful effort will require a lot of work from business and community leaders from throughout the region. The Michiana Partnership is heading up the effort in our region.
