MUNSTER – Through several private donations, 10 women will be able to receive diagnostic mammograms at the Women’s Diagnostic Center.
St. John resident Shelley DeYoung is a two-year cancer survivor and said her recovery was because of Community Hospital and the Women’s Diagnostic Center along with support from her employer, Illiana Heating and Air Conditioning.
In honor of DeYoung, Sue and Tom Krygsheld of Illiana Heating and Air Conditioning held a fund raiser and set up an account to help local women who couldn’t afford mammograms.
They recently presented a $3,000 check to Dr. Mary Nicholson at the Women’s Diagnostic Center.
