IRVING, Texas – Hostess Brands Inc., based in Texas, has announced it could close 21 retail outlets in Indiana, including four in Northwest Indiana, if it isn’t able to reach a favorable Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The four region outlets are in Hobart, Merrillville, Michigan City and Munster. The potential closings represent 53 jobs in Northwest Indiana and more than 850 jobs statewide.
Hostess, which produces the iconic Twinkie and other snacks, said it could sell to another buyer, reorganize the company or liquidate. The company said any closings would take place on July 2.
