LAPORTE – The LaPorte Hospital Foundation has presented a $15,000 grant to Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital and to Indiana University Health Starke Hospital from the Northern Indiana Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The money will be used to assist low-income, uninsured women 40 and older, and women of any age who are at high risk for breast cancer, to receive screening or diagnostic mammography services through a physician’s referral.

The LaPorte Hospital Foundation Breast Cancer Project is a comprehensive effort for early detection of breast cancer and seeks funding partners to support community-wide efforts of the IU Health Women’s Imaging Center.
