LAPORTE – The Visiting Nurse Association of Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital is looking for volunteers to assist hospice patients and families in LaPorte County.
Interested volunteers should sign up for 10 to 12 hours of trainings on Friday, Sept. 16, at the VNA office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Tuesday, Sept. 20, at LaPorte Hospital from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hospice volunteers visit patient homes to provide companionship, offer four hours of respite time for caregivers, provide emotional support to the patient and their family, perform small housekeeping chores and provide bereavement support after the patient’s death.
