Horizon Bank welcomes new vice president in Michigan City

Horizon Bank welcomed Scott Freeman to the Michigan City team as a vice president, wealth adviser.

Freeman will focus on business development and financial planning, according to a press release. In previous roles, he was a senior investment strategist, director of investments and a senior portfolio manager in Michigan.

He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business. He also is a designated Chartered Financial Analyst.

Freeman's community service includes: director of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, finance committee member of the Greater Kalamazoo United Way and Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, and director of the West Michigan Jazz Society.

Horizon Bancorp Inc., the holding company of Horizon Bank, is celebrating 150 years in business. It serves customers in Indiana and Michigan.
