LAPORTE – Tickets for the 18th annual La Porte Hospital Foundation Holiday at the POPS are on sale. The philanthropic concert event kicks off the holiday season at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at the La Porte Civic Auditorium, 1001 Ridge St.
Balcony tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the Foundation’s VNA Fund, which supports Indiana University Health LaPorte VNA Services and other philanthropic healthcare needs in the community.
Holiday at the POPS Committee Co-Chair Elizabeth Dekker said, “POPS is a wonderful way to start the ho+liday season. It’s a family-friendly event that’s moving at times. The holidays are not just about the gifts. The holidays are more about the spirit of giving, and POPS is really a great time to reflect on the real purpose and meaning of the season.”
The concert features a variety of local talent including the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra, directed by Philip Bauman. Entertainment will also be provided by special guest artists including: Kyrie Anderson, vocalist; Cripple Creek, vocal ensemble; Illumination, chorus; Charles Steck, trumpet/vocalist; and Dr. William E. Wolf III, alto saxophone. This year’s event will also include the first-ever performance of the IU Health La Porte Hospital family choir, directed by La Porte County Superior Court No. 1 Judge Kathleen Lang.
