SOUTH BEND – Dr. Cynthia Heckman-Davis has been chosen as the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians 2013 Family Physician of the Year.
This award honors physicians who exemplify the tradition of the family doctor tradition. Those nominated must contribute to the continuing good health of their community and the citizens of Indiana; have been in practice for at least 10 years; spend at least 50 percent of their time in patient care; and provide compassionate, comprehensive, caring family medicine on a continuing basis.
Heckman-Davis provides care at Lakeville Family Medicine, an affiliate of Memorial Medical Group. She received her medical degree from Rush Medical College of Chicago and completed her residency at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
She will be honored at an Awards Ceremony in Indianapolis on July 27.
