VALPARAISO – HealthLinc and Porter-Starke Services recently received the Special Exemplary Project Award from the Indiana Primary Health Care Organization.
“HealthLinc is honored to have received this award with valued partner Porter-Starke,” said Beth Wrobel, CEO. “It’s a testament to the strength of both organizations and the partnership we have formed. More importantly, it shows the strength of the healthcare services we offer to the community.”
The two organizations have been involved in healthcare integration, utilizing a behavioral specialist within its healthcare visits and screening for mental health issues. Of 22 clients in the project, 18 percent have decreased their waist circumference, 32 percent have decreased their depression level, 18 percent decreased their anxiety level and 18 percent increased their amount of ex3ercise.
“Individuals with mental health issues often see disparities in primary healthcare,” said Rocco Schiralli, president and CEO of Porter-Starke. “While preliminary, these outcomes show the positive impact this partnership has on the mental and physical health of those we serve.”
