A new Dairy Queen is opening in Hammond Dec. 29.

The DQ Grill & Chill Restaurant is opening at 954 Indianapolis Blvd. The restaurant will be owned and operated by Danny Patel.

“Dairy Queen has always been a timeless favorite,” Danny Patel said. “With a long-standing tradition of serving great food and classic frozen desserts, there is something to love for family members of all ages.”

Danny Patel will work alongside the multi-unit manager, store manager and assistant manager to oversee the operations in Hammond. Patel’s Hammond Dairy Queen is his second DQ location and is developing a third.

The Dairy Queen system has more than 7,000 locations worldwide.
