Griffith-based Bulkmatic, a dry bulk transport services provider, has partnered with Bulk FR8 of Seattle to form Dry Bulk FR8 LLC, which will offer nationwide dry bulk transport services.
The new company offers expertise in pneumatic tank truck management and brokerage.
“We’ve provided dry bulk trucking and rail transload services for more than 50 years,” said Chris Kravas, president of Bulkmatic. “We are happy to announce that we can now offer brokerage services by working with one of the best liquid bulk brokerages in the business and become a one-stop transportation solution for our customers”
Dry Bulk FR8 is headquartered at Bulkmatic’s recently renovated corporate office in Griffith. Three employees from Bulk FR8’s Seattle office have relocated from Seattle to Griffith, the company said.
“This is an exciting alliance because we share a similar customer service philosophy and company culture,” said Wayne Levinson, founder and president of Bulk FR8.
Bulkmatic was founded in 1965 and has 800 employees. The company operates a fleet of more than 500 tractors and 1,400 pneumatic dry bulk trailers located at terminals around the country.
Bulk FR8 LLC launched in 2011 and has a fleet of 500 tank truck carriers and intermodal partners with access to more than 50,000 tank trucks and ISO containers.
