Goodwill LEADS lands training grant from Lake County’s Legacy Foundation

GoodwillGoodwill LEADS Inc. received a $25,000 grant from Lake County’s Legacy Foundation for The Excel Centers.

This donation will go toward training in the Hammond and Gary locations for entry level IT certifications including CompTIA IT Fundamentals and CIW Social Media Strategist. ‘

“With the Legacy Foundation grant, we can ensure that our students earn their high school diploma and a certification that is industry recognized,” said Cindy Cavanaugh, vice president, The Excel Centers. “It will help them pursue employment in the ever-growing IT sector and stand out above the competition.”

The Excel Center is a free, public high school serving students 18 and older with year-round accelerated classes. Graduating students receive an Indiana Core 40 Diploma and college credits or industry certification.

Goodwill LEADS Inc. is a non-profit entity affiliated with Goodwill Industries of Michiana Inc.
