Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson will be the featured speaker from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 at Indiana University Northwest in the John W. Anderson Library Conference Center, Room 105.

Freeman-Wilson’s topic is “Civic Engagement,” a theme that has resonated throughout her professional career. Hosted by e Engaging Northwest Indiana Business Women, everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited, so please RSVP by emailing kfalzone@sbcglobal.net.

Karen Freeman-Wilson has been active in the Northwest Indiana business, political and civic community for three decades. Her involvement has been fueled by a passion for service instilled by her mother. As a member of numerous boards and commissions, she understands the importance of sacrificing time and talent. As a candidate who has lost more elections than she has won, Freeman-Wilson has a unique perspective about the need for knowledgeable and ethical citizens to serve in government and how to navigate the political road to good government. Freeman-Wilson will share her views on civic engagement and challenge us to reengage in our respective communities.
