Franciscan St. Anthony Health EMS Academy Offers EMT-Paramedic Training Program

CROWN POINT — Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point Emergency Medical Services Academy will accept applications until 4 p.m. Oct. 7 for its next emergency medical technician-paramedic training program, which will begin in January.

Applications for the 11-month course are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the academy, which is located on the second floor of the hospital’s Medical Arts Center, 1201 S. Main St., Suite 201, or through the academy website.  Applicants must be Indiana emergency medical technicians and pass course entrance exams to be accepted into the program.

Paramedic program graduates will be eligible to take National Registry written and practical exams required for licensure in Indiana. Graduates also may obtain an associate degree in Paramedic Medicine through the University of Saint Francis in Crown Point by attending an additional two semesters there. The program also includes a bridge into the nursing program.
