Four Nursing Leaders Promoted at Porter

Deborah Shepherd, RN, a native of Valparaiso was recently promoted to the position of Director of the Porter Regional Hospital Emergency Department. A graduate of Valparaiso University, Shepherd joined Porter in 2013 after 16 years with Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. In 2015, Shepherd was named manager of the Portage Hospital Emergency Department.

The new Unit Director of Portage Regional Hospital’s IMCU/PCU department is Judy Davidson, RN. Davidson first came to Porter in 1998 when she worked in the ICU at the Portage Hospital. She left Porter in 2005 and returned in 2014 as an RN on the Progressive Care Unit.

Another change in the IMCU/PCU unit is that Kimberly Brown, RN accepted the position of Nurse Manager. She has worked at Porter since 2006.

Sheila Boren-Dieken, RN, has been promoted to Manager of Nursing Services at Porter Regional Hospital. She began with Porter in 1989 as a Patient Registrar. After graduating from PNC in 2002, Boren-Dieken transferred to an RN position in Porter’s ICU department.
