First Lady Jill Biden, a longtime advocate for community colleges, will visit the Hoosier state next week.

The event is part of a Biden Administration tour promoting community colleges as an affordable higher education option for good-paying jobs.

Jill Biden will visit Ivy Tech Community College in Valparaiso on Feb. 17 after visiting Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona, on Monday.

Biden teaches English and writing at Northern Virginia Community College, becoming the only First Lady to continue her career outside of the White House. Biden, who holds a doctorate in education, also worked at the school during her husband’s eight-year term as vice president.
