Anthony Contrucci has been named president of First Bancshares Inc., Centier Bank's holding company.
Contrucci joined the bank in 2011 and is married to CEO Michael Schrage's daughter, Melissa. He has 20 years of experience in the industry.
As part of the fifth generation of leadership of the bank, he also is on the boards of directors of First Bancshares and Centier Bank.
“I am dedicated to my role of living out Centier’s purpose of enriching lives through financial guidance for an even better tomorrow and upholding our family’s commitment to remain family-owned for generations to come,” said Contrucci in a press release.
Schrage said the appointment is a commitment to the 128-year legacy of the bank's private family ownership.
“Anthony is driven and has a passion for Centier’s perpetuity,” Schrage said. “He possesses a strong commitment to impacting and enriching lives in our communities and sharing our servant heart culture with others.”
Contrucci also served as director of investment services and senior vice president of community relations, and in the wealth management department as a strategic products consultant for the bank.
Contrucci earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Bentley University in Massachusetts and a Masters of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Merrillville-based Centier Bank, which was founded in 1895, has 60 offices in 35 communities in Indiana.
