MICHIGAN CITY – Federal Mogul officials have announced that the company will close its Michigan City windshield wiper facility by the end of this year, putting 100 people out of work.
The company is moving the operation to a plant it operates in Juarez, Mexico. Spokesman Jim Burke said the move will provide Federal Mogul “greater efficiency” and make the company more competitive.
Some employees may be offered jobs at other Federal Mogul facilities. The company operates a factor in South Bend.
