MICHIGAN CITY – Fas-Pak, a custom packaging operation in LaPorte and Michigan City, has acquired the former Jaymar-Ruby office and factory on the south side of Michigan City for $2 million.
The 300,000-square-foot facility sits on 28 acres and has been vacant for several years since Jaymar-Ruby’s British-owned parent company filed for bankruptcy.
Fas-Pak is expected to use part of the building to expanding its packaging operations and lease warehouse space to other companies, said Kevin Kieft, business development manager of the Michigan City Economic Development Corp.
