SCHERERVILLE – Evelyn Harris, Resource Development Associate for Lake Area United Way was recently awarded the distinction of Station Manager of the Year for the organization’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).
The nationwide program is the largest volunteer network for people age 55 and over in the U.S., consisting of over 500,000 volunteers throughout the country. RSVP offers a full range of volunteer opportunities specialized for older and more experienced adults. The program offers seniors a chance to learn new skills, utilize skills they already have and become involved in activities that will benefit their local community. RSVP Station Managers are tasked with overseeing the onsite operations at their location.
