Ethics forum scheduled for March 11

            MERRILLVILLE – The Quality of Life Council, the Lake County Advancement Committee and the Shared Ethics Advisory Commission will host a seminar, “Ethics in Government: Northwest Indiana at the Crossroads,” from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Avalon Manor.

            The program is free, but reservations to attend are needed by March 7. To reserve a seat, call (219) 473-4318 or e-mail alake2@ccsj.edu.

            Speakers include U.S. Attorney David Capp; Andy Shaw of the Better Government Association of Chicago; and Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller.

            Panelists who will discuss the issue are state Sen. Jim Arnold, D-Michigan City; State Rep. Mara Can deliria-Reardon; Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas; and Munster Town Manager Tom DeGiulio.

            Also supporting the seminar is the Northwest Indiana Forum, Calumet College of St. Joseph, The Times, BP, NIPSCO and U.S. Steel.
