Ennis Named to State Economic Development Board

PORTAGE — Heather Ennis, President and CEO of the Northwest Indiana Forum, was named to the Board of Directors of the Indiana Economic Development Association. Ennis Named to State Economic Development Board

The Indiana Economic Development Association is the voice of economic development for Indiana. Made up of economic developers, utilities, attorneys, consultants, financial institutions, higher education professionals, engineers, architects and construction professionals, its members are passionately dedicated to attracting and retaining jobs for the people of Indiana.

Ennis’ experience with organizational operations, capital investments, community partnerships and business attraction/retention will add to the depth of expertise on the IEDA board.

“Heather is the ideal choice to represent Northwest Indiana on the IEDA Board.” Dewey Pearman, Executive Director of the Construction Advancement Foundation and the Chairman of the Northwest Indiana Forum Board of Directors, said. “She will provide a strong voice to help guide Indiana’s economic development vision and will continue to integrate Northwest Indiana’s economic development efforts with those of the state.”

IEDA also works hard to promote state and federal policies that support a positive business climate to help existing businesses flourish and attract new businesses to the state. Advocacy experts help ensure that economic development issues remain on the agenda for our state administrators and elected officials.

The Indiana Economic Development Association Board of Directors is made of a cross-section of active members from various industries. These leaders share a solid dedication to attracting and retaining jobs for the people of Indiana. Each is also committed to strengthening the economic development profession and supporting its professionals.

Ennis’ passion for community building and economic development stems from her husband and young son and a commitment to raise her family in Northwest Indiana to strengthen the region for the next generation.
