ELKHART – Elkhart General Hospital has announced a $74 million expansion that will add 150,000 square feet to the hospital. The project will include updated surgery suites and new recovery room.
The expansion will increase the size of operating suites for 700 square feet to accommodate new technology for arthroscopy and endoscopy. Currently, the hospital has 900,000 square-feet over three floors.
Elkhart General Hospital is part of Beacon Health System, which also includes Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Work on the project is expected to be completed by late 2015.
