HAMMOND – Dominion Resources Inc. of Richmond, Va., has announced that by the end of 2012 its State Line Energy generating plant will close.
Although a possibility exists that the plant could remain open until mid-2014, State Line is slated to close, according to company spokesman Dan Genest. The 120 employees at the plant will be able to apply for positions at other Dominion plants around the country.
The 515-megawatt plant is powered by coal and sells its energy to other utility companies. It has been in operation since 1955.
