After almost 30 years of partnering with DexKo Global Inc., Osceola-based Horizon Plastics & Engineering Inc. decided to join them.

Michigan-based DexKo, which acquired Horizon Plastics in April, has had a long-term relationship with the plastic fabrication company.

“This combination will expand our current market exposure while also bringing injection molding expertise to Dexter, creating many opportunities for both the employees and the business to grow and succeed,” said Neil Hassinger, president of Horizon Plastics, in a press release

Hassinger joined Horizon Plastics in 1985 to manage the molding operations of the company, which operates in a 15,000-square-foot building and employs about 20 people. Horizon Plastics provides plastic injection molded components to multiple industries. It was incorporated in 1983.

“The acquisition of Horizon Plastics fits into DexKo's strategy to increase our value and service to our customers,” said Fred Bentley, CEO of DexKo Global.  “As with previous acquisitions, we will provide a financial and operational foundation that together with DexKo will enable us both to continue to drive our strategic vision.”

Horizon Plastics has been a supplier to Dexter, which has a door and vent manufacturing plant in Bristol. Dexter and AL-KO Vehicle Technology merged in 2015 to form DexKo.

DexKo's brands employ more than 7,000 people in 56 production facilities and 95 distribution centers.
