MICHIGAN CITY – Demolition work is set to begin at the former Dunes Plaza on U.S. 20 in Michigan City to make room for construction of a Kohl’s department store. Demolition of a farmer Kmart store and other buildings will be directed by Haas and Associates of Michigan City.
Work to tear down the buildings and clear the site needs to be completed quickly because concrete pads for the new building needs to be completed by Dec. 21 in order for construction to begin in earnest in the spring.
