GARY – To mark the 40th anniversary of the Crisis Center held a wine tasting event to supports its programs. The Crisis Center, based in Miller Beach in Gary, was founded in 1971 and serves clients in Lake and Porter counties.
Executive director and CEO Shirley Caylor said the agency has 50 employees and an annual budget of $2.7 million. This year’s wine tasting, held in July, attracted nearly 800 people.
The Crisis Center provides assistant to some 435 people a year and has space for 52 residents at its shelter.
