Corvilla Open House Recap

Corvilla hosted an open house at its new location on Deahl Ct. just off Cleveland Rd on Thursday, October 20. Corvilla purchased the 17 wooded acre property that has ponds and an abundance of wild life in late 2015 from the Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana. After extensive renovations, Corvilla moved into the new facility in the summer of 2016.

Representatives from the South Bend Chamber of Commerce and the Corvilla Board of Directors were in attendance to help with the ribbon cutting ceremony. CEO Rick Thompson said “We are excited to move into this facility and look forward to the new and exciting programs that we will be providing to the community. Corvilla began providing quality services as COR in 1959 and this facility will help us continue our mission long into the future.”

Over 100 people from the community were present at the open house. They ranged from local businesses, families, and potential new clients looking to see what Corvilla has to offer. Visitors were able to tour the new facility and grounds plus learn about the various service areas that Corvilla offers – ranging from Supported Living Facilities, Employment Services, and Connections Day Program.

The newly created programs and the relocation have also created new employment opportunities at Corvilla. Individuals looking for employment can reach out to Human Resources at Corvilla by visiting their website www.Corvilla.org.
