Community Hospital Leadership Changes

MUNSTER – Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana (CFNI) Chief Operating Officer Donald P. Fesko announced the following leadership changes at Community Hospital, Munster and Community Care Network, Inc., the physician network of Community Healthcare System.

Effective, July 1, 2016, Luis F. Molina will be promoted to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Community Hospital. Lou has served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the hospital since 2007 and has been the Administrator of Community Care Network, Inc., (CCNI) since 2013. Molina has held other leadership roles within Community Healthcare System. Prior to serving as CFO at Community Hospital, Molina was the CFO of St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.

With the promotion of Molina, Alan Kumar, MD has accepted the position of Administrator of CCNI, overseeing the operations of the employed physician practices of Community Healthcare System. Additionally, Kumar will assume responsibilities as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Community Healthcare System. Since 2014, Kumar has served as the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) for Community Healthcare System. Dr. Kumar has also served as the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Community Hospital since 2010.

Daniel R. O’Brien will join Community Hospital as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). O’Brien has extensive experience in public accounting and financial management. Since 2002, he has held various executive level positions with Academic Medical Center Connection formerly known as University Healthsystem Consortium, Chicago, IL where he served as a member of the senior executive team responsible for strategic direction and operations.

CFNI is a not-for-profit organization that provides leadership and resources for the enhancement of health and the quality of life in Northwest Indiana. At the heart of CFNI's charitable endeavors is the operation of Community Healthcare System, comprised of three not-for-profit hospitals: Community Hospital in Munster; St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago; and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.
