City of Hammond to host free job fair

The Hammond mayor’s economic development office is inviting community members to attend its annual job fair on Sept. 19.

The city hosts the event to address the employment needs of the residents of the city of Hammond and the Region. The job fair also helps assist local companies in their recruitment process. This year marks the city’s 20th annual job fair.


Companies representing government, finance, gaming, health care, sales, manufacturing and apprenticeship trades will be present. 

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hammond Civic Center in Hammond. It is free to attend.

The city of Hammond’s economic development department promotes a healthy economy and strong community. The department aims to strengthen the economic strength of the city by recruiting new employers, retaining existing employers and offering assistance to employers who want to expand in Hammond.
