The City of Gary hosted a press conference to share details of its Strong Cities, Strong Communities Initiative and a status update on the Sheraton demolition project. Mayor Freeman-Wilson welcomed a host of partners. Each discussed their role in the new initiative which the City of Gary was selected to participate in by the Obama Administration.
Redevelopment Director Joe Van Dyk and Green Urbanism Director Brenda Scott-Henry gave an overview of the Sheraton demolition timeline. The project remains on track with official demolition slated to begin July 26.
