MERRILLVILLE – All educators are invited to attend the FREE 12th annual Financial Literacy Fair for Educators to be held at Centier’s Corporate Centre on Thursday, October 26, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Space is limited to 100 attendees.
Teachers will receive financial literacy materials that can be implemented directly in their classrooms and have been correlated to state standards. The first ten schools to register will receive a $50 check at the conclusion of the fair to help subsidize the cost of their substitute. All eligible educators will also receive free professional growth points for attending the entire day.
Educators from community organizations will also find the materials interesting, easy to follow and very valuable for their clients. All will leave with free financial wellness materials that can be taught to their students or clients.
This year’s presenters will offer new and exciting materials and ways of introducing finances to all ages; i.e., the Secretary of State’s office has a new program that can be introduced into the schools; Centier has a new program for interested businesses for their employees; VISA will make their first ever presentation at our Fair; Bank On Northern Indiana Alliance will offer presentations for the unbanked and underbanked; author, Chad Hunter, will explain his artistic version of teaching math; and the Federal Reserve will be on hand to lend their expertise in economics. Each presentation will conclude with a question and answer segment, and the day will also offer opportunities for one on one discussions.
