MERRILLVILLE – Michael E. Schrage, Chairman and CEO of Centier Bank, announced today the introduction of a new account designed for the benefit of active military personnel and military veterans. The Centier Veterans Checking account was named in honor of those who have served, and continue to serve, our nation.

Schrage stated that the new checking product was designed in appreciation for military service members with banking amenities and options that are considerate of a military lifestyle.

The Veterans Checking account offers worldwide access with mobile and online banking, and access to over 53,000 Fee Free ATMs in the Allpoint® network. The account features a premier interest rate, requires a minimum $25 deposit to open, no monthly service charge (when adding direct deposit, e-statements, or $100 minimum balance; otherwise a $2 monthly fee), reduced overdraft fees, free phone transfer requests, and a 25% Safe Deposit box rental discount. Adding to the many amenities of this exclusive account is a $50 donation made to the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces for every new Veterans Checking account opened now until December 31, 2016.

“We are thrilled to partner with Centier Bank,” said Duchess Adjei, Regional Communication Director for the American Red Cross. “Thanks to the generosity of funds that Centier Bank donates through its new Veterans Checking program, the Red Cross will continue to provide 24/7 global emergency communication services, along with military and veteran health care facilities across the country and around the world. As one of the nation’s premier humanitarian organizations, the American Red Cross is dedicated to helping people in need and improving their lives, which are common values between both Centier Bank and the American Red Cross.”

“As a 30-year military veteran, it is my pleasure to support this initiative in appreciation of my fellow veterans and active servicemen,” stated Darrell Jaggers, Senior Partner and Army Veteran. “Centier employs many guardsmen, reservists, and veterans among our associates and our extended family and we have made a corporate vow to continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families in peace, in crisis, and in war.”
