SOUTH BEND — South Bend Airport will be presenting Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka with hundreds of newly-purchased teddy bears, for the hospital to utilize to give to the children it treats. The newly-purchased teddy bears were collected by South Bend Airport for its 2nd annual philanthropic “Bears in the Air” event – and are intended to bring companionship, hugs and smiles to the children in the hospital.
Last year’s “Bears in the Air” donation from the South Bend Airport resulted in nearly 500 teddy bears being donated to the area hospitals. This year – South Bend Airport is pleased to be donating approximately 750 teddy bears.
The presentation of hundreds of donated teddy bears will take place Monday, December 23 in front of the Christmas tree in the main lobby of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center’s Mishawaka campus, just to the left of the registration desk. An opportunity to capture the joy that one of these teddy bears bring to a child at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center will also be possible.
