VALPARAISO – The 40th anniversary of Amtrak will be observed with a breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, at the Harre Union on the campus of Valparaiso University.
The event is sponsored by the Indiana High Speed Rail Association and the guest speaker is Marc Magilari, media relations manager for Amtrak.
Amtrak was created by the U.S. Congress in 1970 and began passenger service in May 1971. It owns the Acela, the only high-speed rail line in American, which serves Washington, D.C., New York and Boston.
