Some 187 participants from the four Franciscan Alliance Northern Indiana Region hospitals raised $10,739 for the American Cancer Society’s 21st annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk Oct. 12 at Hidden Lake Park in Merrillville. Society officials expressed their appreciation with plaques presented to hospital representatives during a program at the Breast Care Center of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point. Franciscan Alliance was a flagship sponsor of the event. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation.
