INDIANAPOLIS – Finishing first in the Indy Car series in 2012, Ryan Hunter-Reay says after qualifying this past Saturday,  “I’m a happy driver with a car that can win any week.  That makes me a very happy person.”  He goes on to say how everyone working with team owner, Michael Andretti, is happy to be part of the team. “Working with Michael, drivers can voice their opinion, and it’s a positive atmosphere.” Michael is owner of Andretti Autosport, based here in Indy.  Marco Andretti, Michael’s son, is also grandson of the legendary 73 year old Mario Andretti.  Marco, who will start this year’s 500 in row one, third position says, “We’ve been dominate as a team so far.”  Being in the first nine positions starting the race is sensible, he continues to explain, and we’re doing whatever it takes to win!  He went on to say last year they led most of the laps and then ended up hitting the wall. Marco and Ryan both have the potential to win this year’s 500, finally breaking the Andretti so-called “curse” of being so close to winning here and then it not happening.  Marco, in a joking manner, says he does not know what this is about (!), filling the conference room with laughter.
