KNOX — How much do you know about the successful industries and substantial opportunities available in Starke County? The Starke County Economic Development Foundation will host its Manufacturing Day this year on Thursday, Oct. 3, to benefit the further development of labor forces in Starke County. The event will be held at the Nancy Dembowski Community Center in Knox, Ind. from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the first time to the general public.
The Manufacturer’s day will feature booths of local manufacturing organizations set up around the room that will provide insights on the keys to success for their organizations. In doing so, participants will gain knowledge as to what each organization actually executes in daily operations, job opportunities available inside participating organizations, and what qualifications or education they must acquire to adequately complete their tasks in different skilled positions. Also, participants will learn firsthand what each employer looks for in possible candidates for employment in their organization. As a result, the event will allow participants to start taking the fundamental steps towards attaining a job in some area of skilled labor, thus, promoting long-term economic sustainability in Starke County.
