1st Source promotes Short to bank CEO

Andrea Short will become CEO of 1st Source Bank on Dec. 1, according to a company press release.

In her new position, Short will oversee the personal banking, business banking, specialty finance, wealth advisory services, credit and the operations functions. Short will remain an executive vice president of 1st Source Corp.

Short, who is a CPA, joined the 1st Sources tax department in 1998 and was promoted in 2001 to assistant vice president and tax director. She was promoted several times since then, including chief financial officer.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in business with a focus on accounting from Alma College in Michigan. She also graduated from the University of Chicago’s Booth School Chicago Management Institute and The Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.

Kevin Murphy also was promoted to chief digital officer and executive vice president of the bank and 1st Source Corp. He interned at the bank during high school and college, and officially was employed by the bank 2006 where he rose through the management ranks, most recently as group head of IT, marketing and digital strategy.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Wittenberg University in Ohio, a Bachelor of Science in information technology from DeVry University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

The bank said it made the promotions to “recognize present day responsibilities, bring focus to the company’s most important challenges, continue a tradition of promoting from within, and prepare the company and bank for continued leadership development across the organization as it looks forward to years of future growth.”

Christopher Murphy III will remain chairman, president and CEO of 1st Source Corp. and chairman of 1st Source Bank.

1st Source Corp. is the parent company of 1st Source Bank, which has been serving customers for 155 years.
