HAMMOND – The Indiana Welcome Center, 7770 Corinne Drive, is accepting entries for its annual ugliest lamp contest. Lamps can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 30.
The contest is based on the 1983 movie, “A Christmas Story,” (set in fictional Hohman, Ind.) when Mr. Parker wins a leg lamp as a “major award” from a contest in the newspaper. In this contest, the winner will receive a leg lamp, identical to the one in the move.
Visitors will vote on the ugliest lamp in each category from Dec. 1-31 to determine the winners.
