MERRILLVILLE – Northern Indiana Public Service Co. has signed a contract with 350Green LLC of Los Angeles, Calif., to conduct a study on locations for publicly available charging stations for electric cars.
The study is to be completed by Jan. 7, 2012. Details of the contract were not announced.
350Gree designs, builds and operates charging stations and has partnerships with Walgreens and the Simon Property Group.
Last April, NIPSCO filed an application with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to provide incentives for those who install residential charging stations.
