The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs is accepting applications for the 2023 Indiana Main Street program.
“Our Indiana Main Street program is an asset to many rural communities,” said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, who oversees the office of community and rural affairs. “Last year, our Main Street communities saw 183 new businesses, 594 new jobs and 465 building improvements.”
There are presently 118 Main Street organizations in Indiana.
Indiana communities new to the program can apply for the OCRA’s Downtown Affiliate Network level. Communities that already achieved ODAN level and completed any required waiting periods are eligible to apply to the next level, Aspiring IAMS one-year program. Additional information about the different levels of the Indiana Main Street program is available online.
“The Indiana Main Street program provides a variety of resources for communities, from online toolkits to training and networking events,” said Denny Spinner, OCRA executive director. “I encourage interested towns and cities to apply and take advantage of all the opportunities this program offers.”
Communities seeking the ODAN level must submit a letter of intent by 4 p.m. ET on Oct. 31. Communities seeking the aspiring IAMS level must submit a letter of intent by 4 p.m. ET on Dec. 30.
