CROWN POINT – Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point has announced it will begin construction on a $6 million Radiology Oncology Department that will include a Trilogy Linear Accelerator from Varian Medical Systems of California.
Construction is expected to be completed by November.
“The Trilogy radiation therapy machine will offer fast, more precise, stereotactic body and cranial treatment that will address problems faster,” said Dr. Abdul Kahn, medical director of radiation oncology, who will lead the department along with Jacqueline Katz, the director of imaging.
Besides the Trilogy unit, St. Anthony also has a new nuclear camera. “The camera allows for better resolution, better image quality and quicker acquisition (of information),” said Stojan Trajkovski, nuclear medicine technician.
