VALPARAISO – Portage Solar LLC has received approval from the Porter County Board of Zoning Appeals for an 11-acres solar panel field just outside Portage. The energy generated by the field would be sold to NIPSCO.
Ecos Renewable Energy of Minnesota will develop the field. The company also is developing similar projects in Hobart and Merrillville in Lake County.
