GARY – The Regional Development Authority is working with Gary officials to help finance the demolition of the former Sheraton Hotel in downtown.
The 300-room hotel, which has been closed for 25 years, has become an eyesore. Demolition would about $1.3 million according to Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson.
Freeman-Wilson said demolition would open up new possibilities for redevelopment of downtown Gary.
